When Diane and I started The Alpaca Company in 1990 at our farm in Columbia, we felt the sense of wonder new alpaca breeders often report. Alpacas are gentle and intelligent. They provide a center of calm in our busy lives. They are earth-friendly, easy to care for, and they love children.
