No other farm animal can equal the alpaca in offering sound investment returns from easily managed animals on small acreage.  Due to the slow reproduction rate and the difficulty in importing alpacas, the alpaca industry will be focused on breeding stock for many years to come.

The Alpaca Market

Alpaca sales are usually off the farm, but there are several regional sales per year. Most alpacas are registered and blood-typed. An alpaca that is not registered should not be used for breeding.
